Meet Our Doctor

Christina Herald, OD

Dr. Herald has made it her mission to empower patients in the Fall River MA/Tiverton RI area though quality eye exams and better vision. As a child, Dr. Herald had a family member who passed away in a house fire because she had macula degeneration and could not see well enough to shut off her gas stove. She also has a veteran uncle who is in a dementia-specific nursing facility. She deeply understands the toll that poor vision and eye disease can take on patients and their families and the safety risks it can pose.

Dr. Herald has worked for many years in different types of optometry practices, including an eye clinic within a community health center. There, she saw many seniors who had limited transportation struggle to get to their health needs managed.

This is not the sad narrative that Dr. Herald wants for her own family, or for her community. Thus Fall River Vision Mobile was born! Dr. Herald has always been an outside-the-box thinker. Not only has she decided to bring her exams directly to patients, but she also strives to do this in a unique and fun way that celebrates patient’s connection to their community. In addition to treating eye disease, she brings glasses and gives her patients a nice visit that they can look forward to!

Dr. Herald lives in the Seekonk/East Providence area and has a passion for treating patients in MA/RI. She graduated from UMass Boston with honors in Psychology in 2010 and she went on to the New England College of Optometry to complete her doctorate in 2014 with clinical honors.

When Dr. Herald is not providing quality vision care services, she enjoys playing roller derby and spending time with her husband and high school sweetheart, Alex, and their two rescue dogs, Harvie and Ace!
